WINDOWS MEDIA PLAYER MKV CCCP WINDOWS
Microsoft have actually, in the past, released versions of Windows without the ability to play DVDs and media files in order to satisfy customers in particular countries with horrendously tight legislation (N versions?). MS have to search on other incomes then there OS. If I have to pay for a media-player I switch to Linux back again.Īn Operating Systeem should be completly free. MS have to release a universal mediaplayer within WTP. If whe are working on Linux, that's one reason. It is an extra option You have to pay for. I'll try the new build and see if this breaks or improves functionality Again, the same message appears and the file plays fine. After uninstalling (and restarting), I gave it another go. Since I have VLC installed on the machine, I thought perhaps this was having an influence. At first it said, the standard "not recognised", however after clicking on Yes, the file played perfectly well. Play an mkv file on build 9860 in Windows Media Player. For instance, an MKV could contain h264 or XVID or a variety of other different video codecs but most commonly contains h264 -> MPEG-4. mkv extension is not necessarily a problem but instead the codecs used within. I have a colleague who I have asked to try a testing with another laptop we are running ten on, but he hasn't upgraded to 9879 yet.

I had tried it with previous build, then upgraded to 9879, still didn't work, so installed CCCP codecs, then it worked (Volume very very low!), uninstalled CCCP codecs, stopped working again!
